Description
A freestanding ER in Tyler, TX is seeking a PRN ER Technician to join their team. The ER Tech will provide patient support for physicians and nurses. This position will consist of a rotating 12 hour shift; nights and some weekends required.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Support RNs and Physicians in providing technical care of patients
- Document vital signs
- Perform phlebotomy and IV starts
- Perform EKGs
- Place patience on cardiac and vital sign monitors
- Wound care
- Obtain lab specimens
- Ensure patient areas, storage rooms, and equipment are clean and maintained
- Manage lab supplies, linens and stock room supplies
- Strong commitment to patient care and service
Requirements
- 1 year of experience working in an ER environment
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong organizational, reasoning, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure in high-stress situations
Qualifications
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Positive, warm and friendly personality
- Self-motivated
- Perceptive of non-verbal cues by patients
- Minimum certification: EMT-P
